2015 NEWS & EVENTS!
MAKE YOUR MARK PROCESS ART SHOW
A Literal Pet Project :-)
NOVEMBER 2015
THANK YOU!
51 COMMUNITY DRAWINGS, 800 INSTAGRAM LIKES and 60 BOOK PRE-SALES!
Chicken: A Comic Cat Memoir
Picture Book Meets Comic Book
Written & illustrated by Terese Jungle
Suitable even for the young 'uns (as it was created, in part, with a 6-year-old's sense of humor in mind), Chicken is a true tale of urban, creative life featuring a beloved pet. Along the way there is synchronicity, risk, re-invention, revelry, and both the sweet and more serious matters of love.
While the printed book was not yet available, visitors kindly pre-ordered and brought smiles and hugs (and friends) to see a behind-the-scenes slice of this project and its making. The show included a graphic timeline of the concept's inception and fruition as well as the process along the way from rough sketches to finished prints.
There was also a community project component of this show where guests left art of their pets on the "Draw Your Pet" wall. All of the drawings were then posted to the @ChickenTheBook Instagram.
The show took place in Point Breeze on Pittsburgh’s East End at Make Your Mark Café
